Accessibility statement

Buffalo Beauty by Meg is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

Our standard

We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, speech, cognitive or other disabilities.

What we’ve done

  • Built the site with semantic HTML, a logical heading order and labeled navigation landmarks.
  • Made every link, menu, button, form field and photo viewer usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Checked text and buttons for sufficient color contrast against the dark background.
  • Given meaningful images text alternatives, and marked decorative images so screen readers skip them.
  • Labeled every contact-form field and marked required fields in text as well as with a symbol.
  • Respected the “reduce motion” setting on your device and allowed text to be resized up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Tested pages with automated tools (including Google Lighthouse and the W3C markup validator) and by hand with a keyboard.

Accessibility tools on this site

Use the Accessibility tools button (the round icon at the bottom-left of every page, or the link in the footer, or press Alt+U) to adjust the site for you. One-click profiles are available for Seizure Safe, Vision Impaired, ADHD Friendly, Cognitive, Keyboard Navigation, Screen-Reader Helper and Dyslexia, plus individual controls for text size, readable and dyslexia-friendly fonts, spacing, contrast, saturation, reading guides, cursor size, read-aloud and more. Your settings are remembered on your device. These tools are a convenience; they don’t replace your own assistive technology, and the site is built to work without them.

Known limitations

Some content comes from third parties and is outside our direct control:

  • The “I’m not a robot” check on our contact form is provided by Google reCAPTCHA. If it gives you trouble, please text or call instead.
  • The optional map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps.
  • Links to Instagram, Facebook and Google take you to sites with their own accessibility policies.
  • Before-and-after photos are described in general terms; please ask if you’d like more detail about a specific result.
